This lily print features the celebrated Blue Egyptian Water Lily from The Temple of Flora, one of the finest botanical publications of the early nineteenth century. Published by botanist Dr. Robert John Thornton in 1804, the illustration was created from a drawing by Peter Charles Henderson and engraved by Joseph Constantine Stadler. Set against a tranquil Nile landscape with palm trees and distant Egyptian architecture, it combines scientific accuracy with romantic artistic style.
