About the artwork
This vintage circus poster is a restored reproduction of an original American chromolithograph created around 1899 for the Forepaugh & Sells Brothers circus. It advertises the Carl Damann family of male and female acrobats, shown performing a series of difficult balancing and aerial acts. The poster was printed by Strobridge Lithographing Company in Cincinnati and New York. Bright costumes, dramatic poses and the large red circus heading make the composition immediately eye-catching. This restored reproduction works especially well in living rooms, creative spaces or interiors featuring historical circus art. Available as a poster or canvas print.
