About the artwork
This Japanese tiger wall art is a reproduction of Toy Tiger, created by the Japanese artist Iwao in 1854 during the Edo period. The original print is held by the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The tiger is shown with a rounded body, large eyes and a long upright tail, while expressive brush-like lines give the animal its distinctive character. Japanese calligraphy and red seals complete the composition. Created to celebrate the Year of the Tiger, this unusual historical artwork works especially well in living rooms, studies or interiors featuring Japanese and animal art. Available as a poster or canvas print.
